“To present this play and portray these highly influential historical characters in their native language is the opportunity to get a deeper connection to the passions, courage and sensibilities that only the French language can convey. Émilie reaches across the centuries to once again hold a mirror to our 21st century world to show the challenges that still to this day accomplished women all over the world face when balancing their hearts and minds while trying to make their way through established patriarchal institutions and society. Like Émilie at the end of the play, I hope that audiences that come see the show walk away with deeper questions and a greater understanding of what really matters during our short stay on this big blue marble.”

This show is unlike any other I have ever seen on the stage. Dionna brings you to tears with her left-brained Emilie seeking to understand the difference and importance of Love and Science. On the other end, you will not have lived until you’ve seen Luis bring the perfect flourish and magic to Voltaire. We have such a fun cast all around and we’ve enjoyed building these intricate relationships that come in and out of Emilie’s bardo to lead her through her final experiment.
